Various news reports have had conflicting details on when Apple would officially held its iPhone 6 announcement. After recent rumors claim the company plans to push its event to October, a new report says that Apple has schuduled the announcement for September 9.
Apple CEO Tim Cook already hinted of upcoming product releases during the company’s earnings conference call in July. The news first broke out in tech blog Recode, which has a consistent record of revealing when Apple’s fall event would be held.
That report also dismissed other rumors about Apple postponing the announcement of its supposedly larger iPhones for next year, claiming that it would launch both the 4.7- and the 5.5-inch versions of the smartphone. Both of those iPhones run on new A8 processors, according to Recode.
The Wall Street Journal also joined in the “guess the date of iPhone 6 announcement” competition by citing sources “familiar with the matter” pegging the event as September 9.
